Being Paid As I Train As A Cna Here In Tennessee?
This Question From Tennessee LPN Programs | 4 Answers
I live here in tennessee (goodlettsville) and my mom told me that at her nursing home, she said that they train CNA and pay them at the same time. is it true? how much?
and how good is it to work as a CNA?
because i don’t want to be an RN because of the F**king prerequisites that are useless and costs a ton of money.
*ehem* volstate college *ehem*
Because I’m also trying to be an LPN but the training or should i say the program is the same as the CNA? you know, like is it the same as on-the-job training?
and please don’t give me the answer that “Why not search on this blah-blah-blah.com” or “do RN, CNA sucks ” because I don’t have any options to make other than being a CNA.
Because RN TAKES A LOOOOOT of money to finish, and I’m just poor (just came from the philippines)
and if you can give me some programs or careers without having a college degree or F*cking prerequisites?
(because some teachers and community college are just milking the money out of us people)
Thanks for the answer

I was a cna for almost 10 years. It is very hard work both physical and mentally if you work in a nursing home.
They have to many residents to 1 cna.
LPN is the next step up.They usually pass out medication,do paper work ,Tell the cna’s what to do because most of them are to lazy to do it there self. Most LPNs treat cna’s like were so much lower then them.[ I did say most LPNs ]
Rn is the road to go >it pays good money>you don’t have as many bosses over you and there in need right now .
Hope this helps
PS I no longer work as a cna because of physical problems I have now from all the lifting ect.
And yes you can go apply at nursing homes most of them have cna classes for free and you get paid while you go threw the classes
Most facilities will pay you to work as a CNA while they train you. LPN and CNA are two Totally different jobs. CNA’s are Certified, hence the C. LPN’s are LIcensed, hene the L. LPN’ s pass medications, do assessments, chart, talk to dr.s, etc. There really isn’t that much difference b/w LPN’s and RN’s in ters of what they do. An associate degree in nusing RN takes 2 years. A lot of facilities will pay for you to go to nursing school, esp if you will work for them aftery ou graduate. I do agre a lot of the prerequ’s are BS. If you plan on working in a nursing home forever then LPN would be good. If you want to work in a hospital, then better get the RN.
CNA gets paid nothing pretty much. RN’s get paid nearly 50000 a year and CNAs are paid 10 dollars an hour. the difference in salary is worth the money for schooling. since u dont have money a local community college is bound to give u lots of financial aid.
suffer the perquisites…its not the ******* hard so many people have done it. i work in the kitchen at a nursing home to save up money for college bc guess what hon i dont have money either but im still going for RN!!! work as a CNA, save up money then go for RN. go to a local community college for nursing those are much cheaper then 4 year universities. while you’re there work part time as a CNA. i know a couple CNA’s who are doing that.
good luck..
I have been a cna for 11 years and I got my training here in Ohio by working in a nursing home where they paid me for the two week trainng and paid for the state test as long as I worked for them for at least 3 months. It was well worth the on the job training. Also it is emensely helpful when going through your LPN training because most schools are requiring you to take the class now anyway. Good luck with whatever you decide and don’t discount RN school yet there are a lot of monies out there through schlorships and grants and loans. Hope this answer was helpful.
