This Question From LPN Nursing Training | 2 Answers

I am a trained LPN and have been taking classes for EMT Basic, and was just wondering if I was on a ambulance and had to give someone an IV or shot would it be okay to do?

According to an instructor I use to have, if your job title is EMT Basic you act as an EMT Basic only. No matter what else you had training in.

Absoultely NOT. The job title you work for & description determines your scope of practice. This is completely exceeding your scope of practice & would probably result in your loss of license. Even as a LPN, if you gave a medication on your own, you would be subject to sanctions.
