No branch of the military will allow you to serve as a Nurse with only an LPN license. All Nurses are Officers and in order to be an Officer, one must have a Bachelor’s Degree. Nurses specifically must have a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing to qualify for a commission. It takes about 4 years going to school full-time to earn the BSN. No short cuts.
There are enlisted positions in medical care that don’t require a degree and you will receive outstanding military training and experience. The Army has 68WM6s which are pretty much the same as a civilian LPN. The Navy has corpsman, while I understand they are high-speed in their medical training I don’t know the specifics.
Whoa, lose the caps lock!
BSN = 4 year bachelor’s degree = college graduate. You need this to be an officer.
All you need to be a corpsman is to have graduated high school. We’ll train you as an LPN, basically. You can even earn your BSN if you work your @ss off after hours…plenty of people do.
Talk to your local recruiter: they’ll have all the answers!
no. Minimum is a BSN, period.
look into getting into ROTC with Nurse option and see about getting a scholarship that way.
No!
