Can I take the LPN exam, while in a BSN program in ILLINOIS?

This Question From Illinois LPN Programs | 2 Answers

I attend Southern Illinois University in their RN Bachelor’s program. I am currently a second semester JUNIOR. I have had 10 credit hours of Med-surg clinicals. Also currently work as a student nurse at a local hospital.

Basically I was wondering if I was allowed to take the LPN exam, so I can make a little extra money and get better practice.

Does Illinois allow this? and do you have a source that explains it?

I appreciate any help. Best answer will be chosen for points.
I have not completed a LPN program. I am in the BSN program.

If you completed an LPN program, and have the documentation to back it up, then yes. The application for LPN licensure on the basis of examination was repealed in 2000, according to the IL Board of Nursing website.

Most LPN programs have a clinical component which you have not taken. I doubt if you will be allowed to take the test. You should check, however with the Illinois licensing division./
