can you guys help me on this decision?

This Question From Mississippi LPN Programs | 1 Answer

i am currently enrolled in college and attending prerequisite classes to enter into the 2 yr RN program. well i found out yesterday that i wont be excepted into the program until August of 2009. even then, the directer of the program said that it becomes a draw over 300 students who have already applied. then they only pick 50. so needless to say i was kind of stunned. i will have my prerequisites finished this winter though. so until i am chosen i am a sitting duck. i was thinking about entering into the lpn program which is easier to get into and only takes a year to finish. the down side of that is LPNs dont make as much money out here in mississippi. like 13-15.00 to start. so, i have two questions…. what do you guys think i should do? and is there a site i can go to that shows the pay rates for differant states for lpns? i would hate to stay in Mississippi and make alot of nothing. thanks

Go for LPN and then leave Mississippi when you are done..that’s one of the lowest paying states..try Texas pay scale will be better and housing is still affordable..also just type in pay scale for LPN and it will bring up a gazillion sites for you
