How can my wife use my G.I Bill to pay for her school?

This Question From Army LPN Programs | 3 Answers

My wife is trying to get her lpn at one of these fast track programs and she found one just up the street from her apartment, the problem is that it cost 18,000 which is to much for the spouse progarm the army has i think. We heard that she could use my G.I Bill to goto school but she said I would have to re-enlist (not sure if i wanna do that right now still got 2.5 yrs left in a 6 yr contract)…

    go to
    http://www.gibill.va.gov
    it has the answers
additionally check with your education liaison on base or the finance councilor at the school she wishes to attend
there are a number of help programs grants and loans if you look for them

My husband is in the Army and I tried using his GI Bill but we were told that he would have to have been in the active Army for at least eight years before I could use it. He has only been in for two years. I applied for a federal grant and was granted that. You guys can try that it wouldn’t hurt. The website is http://www.fasfa.edu. Just make sure you have last years tax information because you will need that when filling out the paperwork online. I was able to choose the college I was interested in and my acceptance for my grant was submitted to the college within one week.
I do know that some fast track colleges do not accept the GI bill or a grant. So your wife may need to call the college and find out the regulations before she goes through the trouble and heartache of filling out all of that paperwork.

You cannot transfer it to her unless you have been in for 6 years and reenlisting for another 4. You have only completely 3.5 years in the military so it will not be an option at all.
