I Want To Be A Lpn Or A Rn??? How Do I Pull It Off? Also, What Is The Average Salary Of A Lpn Or Rn?
This Question From LPN Nursing Salary | 1 Answer
I know you have to be a CNA first, but is there any on line classes or tow-year classes that you can take? If, not what other kind of nurse or care-provider could I be with a two-year degree?

Greetings Heather!
I work for a Nurse staffing agency and I think I might be able to give you a basic answer to your questions…First of all.. to become an RN you only need a 2-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) ..There are also ‘fast-track’ programs that will allow you to earn your LPN degree in about 10-12 months..but they will load the work on you during that time. From my experience, alot of the LPNs that I work with typically work in Nursing homes or Doctor offices. The RNs that I work with prefer to stay in a hospital setting.
Pay ranges are going to be based upon your experience, the shift that you prefer, and the setting you want to work in. For example.. around the Cincinnati area, RNs will make any where between $34-$42/hour..depending on what hospital they are at…
As far as online classes are concerned…most 2 year degrees for nursing will require on-site classes…but they may allow you to take your basic classes such as math, English, ect online. You would want to on-site to take your ‘clinical’ type classes anyways..just because of how detailed the instruction will be and you will also have to participate in clinicals as well…
I hope I have been some assistance to you… you are more than welcome to contact me with additional questions.
