Yes. I have been an LPN for over 40 years and have never been out of a job. There is a severe shortage of nurses. I also live in Illinois. I am a gerontological nurse, work in long term care. Hospital nurses look down on us-but we specialize in the care of the aged, and that is very necessary as the population keeps keeps getting older all the time. It’s sometimes a thankless job, but very rewarding personally.
