In The State Of Indiana And Under Indiana Law, What Are The Job Differences Between Lpn Versus Rn?
This Question From Indiana LPN Programs | 1 Answer
QUESTION:
I was wondering other than pay differences, what can one expect a typical on the job day to be like if one was an LPN verses RN? I know Nursing laws defer by state, but if one was to become an LPN in a hospital or nursing home or even a doctors office what would one be allowed and expected to do? And are there any other jobs available for LPNs and what are they (In the state of Indiana)?

you would have to contact indiana state board of nursing to find out what state law allows a lpn and rn to do. a lpn can obtain a job in the same facility as a rn except in the critical care areas such as ICU, CCU, PACU, PICU and NICU. the reason for this is because these pts are on monitors that a lpn is not qualified to read or interpret. also depending on facility a lpn may not be able to administer blood or blood products, critical care drips and do administrative work
