Just because you’re in the Navy wouldn’t make an LPN into or function as an RN. RNs have a separate license for a reason, they perform many different duties and hold responsibilities that LPNs do not legally hold. The Navy should be adhering to any licensure requirements set forth by the board of nursing where the nurse is licensed.
A navy lpn is no different than a normal lpn. And the only disadvantage is when you come out of the navy you won’t make nearly as muCH as an RN. go for the RN position if you can.
