LPN nurse who hasn’t worked in 1 year- state of TN requirements ( multi-state license)?

I have poured through the State Board of nursing’s web site and haven’t been able to find info on what I need to do to stay current. I know there is an “in service” requirement, but what is it? Also, Is there anything else I need to know before I jump Back in? The state is Tn and my license is “multi-state” My license status is current at this time. I wanna go job hunting prepared. any links would be helpful for ” in service” documents..Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. I will choose best answer.

  1. I’m a nurse also and I took a few years off myself at one time. I’m in North Carolina but I believe the standards are pretty much the same. One thing you may want to do is make sure your CPR and First Aid Certificates are current. As you know you can get this done through either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. A lot of places will ask you that. Also if your Community College offers any type of continuing education classes I would take advantage of them. The American Red Cross also offers different types of courses that you can use for continuing education credits. Another thing to look at is any type of letters or bulletins you get from The State Board Of Nursing. Many times they will have classes or in services listed that can be used for continuing education credits.
