School Or Army? What To Do?
This Question From Army LPN Programs | 3 Answers
My daughter got into all the schools she applied to but recently got approached by a army recruiter and he said it would be easier to get a BSN in the army than to be on waiting lists, etc… for nursing school. He said she would get training and be a LPN in 18 months, and then she would go straight to RN classes, without the difficulty of getting into a RN program, and at no cost to her. Is this really the way it works?

tell her to get her degree first!
so she wont have any regrets….
Even if she faces long waiting lists in the civilian world, she would be facing a multi-year commitment to the Army. As a result, it may take even longer for her to finish school and become and RN than if she waited as her army duties may prevent her from pursuing her studies full-time, especially if they send her overseas.
A possible compromise might be to join ROTC at the college she chooses. She can still get help with tuition, and won’t be obligated to serve until AFTER she finishes the degree.
Go to college. the army recruits make anything sound good, that is their job. Once she is in the army her life is not her own anymore.
