Should I Transfer From My Medical Assistant Degree To An Lpn Program?

I have one year left before i graduated with my degree in Medical assistant. My true dream is to become a nurse and I want to transfer to a community college to start my career in Lpn , it is a 49 credit certificate
THE DILEMMA
if I transfer and take the pre clinical and pass the pn entrance exam but i don’t get accepted into the program, then i have wasted one year in pre clinical and have to go back to other school to finish degree

  1. If it is your dream then definitely go for it..things have a way of working out when you put forth a little effort.

  2. You should definitely transfer. In fact, you should consider transferring to an RN program and grunting through the extra time required. The pay and respect you receive once you start working will be much higher if you become an LPN, and even higher if you become an RN.
    You can do it! If you don’t try, you’ll spend life wondering what would have happened if you had tried.

  3. Maybe you should call a counselor at the school you want to go to. Talk to them just tell them you are a prospective student. I would try to get in to the RN program though. One more year of school and you make twice the amount you do as a LPN
