What Class Will I Be If I Join The U.s Navy As A Lvn?

QUESTION:

I’M A 26YRS OLD RECENT LPN GRAD WITH NO DIRECTION.I WANT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL TO CONTINUE MY NURSING DEGREE TO BECOME AN RN BUT I CAN’T AFFORD IT, BECAUSE OF OVER HEAD BILLS AND STUDENT LOANS.A FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT JOINING THE U.S NAVY.I’M A HARD WORKER BUT I DON’T WANT TO WASTE TIME AS AN ENLIST.CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME SOME PRO’S AND CON’S INFO ON THE BENEFITS OF JOINING THE U.S NAVY TO PURSE MY CARREER AS AN RN.-

    an LPN is not sufficient. you MUST have a BSN before you can be commissioned as a Nurse.
    you can only enlist, and currently, HM is jam packed full for females. IF you could even get a slot you’d be waiting at least 6 months, and probably longer, before you could ship out.

    I am not sure what you mean by “class”. But an LVN would be a Navy Corpsman. You would also come into the navy with some rank! Your time would be likely split between being on a ship and being a naval hospital.
    If you join the Army, you would be a 68W with an M6 indicator.
    With either branch you will be able to get money to pay back your loan.
