Where can I find a hospital to do training for nursing?
This Question From LPN Nursing Training | 1 Answer
Where and how do I find a hospital that has a program for someone wanting to do nursing? I have heard I can get my CNA and then go up to lpn. Does anyone know how to find a program like that. I have no experience with nursing either.

You dont get your nursing education directly from a hospital. You get it from a university, or a community college. The first 1/2 of your schooling is done in the classroom, and the last 1/2 will then be done at a designated teaching hospital but your instructors set that all up for you. They tell you when and where to go, and you will be set up with a preceptor whom you will follow around and learn from. You wont only go to hospitals though….you’ll also be set up to spend a few days in a nursing home, a psychiatric facility, a doctor’s office, and even at a public school. They want you to familiarize yourself with all aspects of nursing so they put you into as many different places as possible. Even when you are in the hospital, you’ll find yourself in the nursery one day, and in the OR watching open-heart surgery the next. Check with your local college for a nursing program. You dont need to be a CNA first but, admittedly, it does help a LOT when you’re ready to move on to LPN school. By then, you’ll be familiar with many aspects of a nurse’s job, and with a lot of the equipment that is used. You’ll have a ton more confidence also. Again, check your local college for CNA classes.
