Where should I move??????

This Question From Texas LPN Programs | 4 Answers

I want to move next year. Right now I’m in a practical nursing program so once I get licensed I can pretty much move anywhere. However, I want it to be warm and sunny and also I need to have a college nearby so I can do a bridge program for LPN to RN because my ultimate goal is to be an RN. But once I become an LPN in a few months I want to get a job and move!

Right now I live in FL. So I’d like to try something west…maybe Texas, Arizona, California, or somewhere that I can enjoy the single life as a young professional! How do I know where is best for me? I’ll be moving all by myself…just me and my two shih tzus :)
Any ideas on how to pick a city that’s best for me?
pk-it’s funny how people who live in florida want snow! hahah! i grew up in ohio but have lived in florida the last 5 years…i don’t think i could ever go back to the snowy weather! but thanks for the input :)

It’s not that far west, but in Louisville, KY there’s University of Louisville and it’s hospital along with Jewish Hospital and Norton Health Care – All within a few blocks in Downtown. There’s also Thunder Over Louisville every beginning of Kentucky Derby – Biggest annual firework show in US.

Funny I’m in the same position trying to decide where I want to live. I’ve decided to go somewhere where the people are the kind of people I want to live by. I’ve been on the NRA website looking to see where there are alot of gun ranges. I want to live somewhere where it’s weird if you don’t own a gun. I’ve been on a yoga website to see where there is a teacher for Svaroopa because it’s the only type of yoga I’m interested in. I want to move to Spokane. I then talked to my dad because we have similar personalities and he said I would like the people in Spokane. What do you like to do? Look for your activities online and then see where you can do what you like. Also, climate is really important. I moved from PA to WY to VA and the humidity in VA is KILLING me, I’m so hot most of the time I’m ready to die. I really love New Orleans but I could never live there because of the climate. So find your interests in a city that has a climate you can live with. Good luck.

Research is the Key to figure out where to go, you can only do so much on the internet. So pick about 5 places and take a road trip. Go greyhound if you want to save money. My top picks for no snow and what you are looking for is as follows

    Galveston, TX (Texas A&M)
Phoenix, AZ (10 colleges to choose from)
Albuquerque, NM (10 colleges there as well)
Yuma, AZ (the price is right there. low to no rent if you watch what you are doing. buy a cheap travel trailer to live in and stay rent free, looks like there is 5 or 6 colleges to choose from)
    Brownsville, TX (4 colleges)

Would make a nice 2 week road trip. look up colleges online. check on work online, but go visit the places you choose before making you decision.
