Will I be able to attain a student loan if I am going for a nursing degree after getting a dual degree?
This Question From Nursing Student Loan | 2 Answers
I am currently enrolled at a community college to get my preregs done for nursing school. I already have an associates at this school from years before, so I had to go for a dual degree. I will be applying for admission into a local nursing school separate from this school. Someone told me I would be unable to get a student loan because I already have 2 degrees? Is this true? Because if so, I just spent ,000 already for nothing. I cannot afford nursing school on my own and I have already looked at scholarships. I am married and we are in that loophole where we do not bring a lot of income in, but we are not poverty-level either.

Have you sent in the FAFSA papers? That will give you information. And, there are always personal loans. Also, talk to the financial aid officer to see if they have any help available.
Ok, to answer your question, you are not out of options. If you have not completed a bachelor degree, you are still eligible for Title IV funding up to your aggregate limit. Once you have completed a bachelor degree, you are still eligible for student aid, whether it be for a second bachelor or for grad school. You just aren’t eligible for grants based on Title IV funding. But your stafford loan limits are drastically raised. The money is still out there for you, an associates degree makes no difference. As confusing as financial aid can be, please don’t listen to everyone telling you these things. Each person has their own unique FA experiences based on their circumstances. If you have any questions, please ask a financial aid officer at your campus, or feel free to ask me. I know how confusing and scary it can be.
